New empirical evidence confirming key predictions of the monocentric city model in a developing country context using real estate data from Addis Ababa.
Examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the German housing market, finding minimal changes in house rents and prices in favor of suburban areas and attributing differences from the US "donut effect" to cultural and structural factors.
Estimates the price elasticity of housing supply and the impact of geographic constraints in Germany from 2008-2019 using the Bartik instrument. The housing supply is, on average, inelastic, about 0.23 across counties, with highly (land) developed counties showing lower elasticity.
